Panoramic South West Tour

Tour Highlights:

  • One of the well-known natural tourist destinations in Mauritius is Trou Aux Cerfs, where you will be traveling. The 350-meter-diameter and roughly 100-meter-deep inactive volcanic crater is located at an elevation of 605 meters above sea level.
  • The crater of Trou aux Cerfs is surrounded by a vast expanse of lush forest made up of native plant species and some enormous green pine trees, in contrast to other usual volcanic characteristics. The Trou aux Cerfs is thought to have erupted once and been inactive for the past 700 years.
  • Move on to Ganga Talao, often referred to as Grand Bassin, which is a crater lake situated in the hilly Southwest region of Mauritius, approximately 550 meters above sea level. A temple and many little shrines to Lord Shiva and other gods are situated on the beach.
  • The enormous statue of Lord Shiva will undoubtedly leave you in awe during your visit to this hallowed location. But do not worry about your impending demise; Lord Shiva, the Hindu god, may be found in Grand Bassin, smiling and content as ever.
  • The monument is the highest known statue in Mauritius, at 33 meters tall. In Mauritius, Ganga Talao is a popular destination for large audiences who come to worship, meditate, or just to stroll around the lake and take in the breathtaking surroundings. The Ganga Talao Lake is brimming with a robust population of fish and eels, with an estimated depth of around 18 meters.
  • After that, you’ll travel to Gorge Viewpoint, where you’ll pause to take in the breathtaking panoramic views of the seemingly endless green spaces. Nestled inside the pristine rainforest of Mauritius, the southwestern region boasts about 17,000 acres of undulating hills, profound valleys, breathtaking waterfalls, and an unmatched array of flora and animals.
  •  The height of the observation area from the gorge will astound you. Beautiful waterfall seen from the perspective is to the right. With a few gift shops along the way, the viewpoint’s walkway offers a distinct atmosphere all its own. The majority of the island’s surviving rainforest is preserved in the Black River Gorges National Park, which is also home to several types of wild animals and birds.
  • After that, you’ll go to the stunning Chamarel Viewpoint, a family-friendly location where you can take in a breathtaking aerial perspective of the whole Chamarel hamlet. From there, Le Morne Brabant to the left and La Tourelle du Tamarin to the right will be seen, along with the verdant surroundings and blue seas of the southwest coast. It is advised that you bring a camera and a pair of sunglasses so that you can take in the breathtaking view of the Ile Aux Benitiers from above as well as the verdant hills.
  • The seven-colored earth, a well-known tourist destination and a natural phenomena, will be your next stop. As clay minerals were formed from basaltic lava, the hues changed. In front of your eyes, a lunar-like, almost unreal display of rainbow-hued sand dunes captivates you. This unusual geological anomaly, which is surrounded by luxuriant greenery, is one of those breathtaking works of nature that simply leaves you saying, “Wow.”
  • It is a sizable expanse of sand dunes with sand that has about seven different colors: red, brown, violet, green, blue, purple, and yellow. Even more intriguing is the fact that the colored earth will ultimately divide into separate layers if you combine them. Additionally, you can be perplexed since the colors could fool you and seem like shadows.
  • In addition, there’s a Tortoise Park & Souvenir Shop with a variety of souvenirs, including locally made Chamarel goods, and a cheerful coffee shop.
